Continuing my ‘Best of Series’ I wanted to share some of my finds in Wellington, New Zealand. Wellington is a funky town, and the center of government for Kiwi’s. It’s beautiful, rugged and fun.
PS. The shot above was taken on the Kapiti Coast – if you can do a day trip from Welly head north to these stunning beaches.
Best Cafe: Maranui
Best Harbor : I recommend finding a cafe on the bay on a warm day and sitting outside with a chardonnay.
Best Coffee: Cafe Supreme
Best Place to Stay: Gypsy Caravan
A few other places to note: Fidel’s and Scopa on Cuba St. do awesome pizza, Southern Cross does a great dinner and has a wonderful patio out back, Havana Bar is the place to go for strong drinks and late night dancing. For day trips definitely go by the National Museum – Te Papa, checkout the scenic lookout over Wellington on Mount Victoria and for a great dinner head to Sweet Mother’s Kitchen… just be sure to leave before it gets too late or you’ll get lost in the sea of scantily cad, wasted 20 something’s that flock to the sub-par bar scene on Courteney Place late at night.
